Charles Street School Vice Principal
I am truly honored to join the Charles Street School family.
Palmyra School District has been an important part of my journey as an educator, from completing my student teaching at the high school under Chris Tracey, to spending 10 years teaching English and advising various clubs and activities at PHS, and now continuing my work in the district as a Vice Principal at Charles Street School. These experiences have allowed me to build meaningful relationships and develop a deep appreciation for the pride and sense of community that makes Palmyra such a special place.
In addition to my work in the district, I have had the opportunity to focus on literacy development through my work at Rutgers–Camden, where I am a lecturer in the education department. This has strengthened my passion for supporting students as readers, writers, and thinkers across all content areas. I believe that strong literacy skills open doors for our students, both in and beyond the classroom.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work alongside incredible educational leaders who have helped shape my leadership style to always be student- and teacher-first. Their mentorship has reinforced my belief in the importance of relationships, collaboration, and creating a supportive environment where both students and staff can thrive.
What makes this role especially meaningful to me is that Palmyra is not just where I work; it’s also my home. I live here with my husband, Donny, and our two cats, Meef and Potato. Being part of this community personally and professionally is something I value deeply, and it fuels my commitment to our students and families each and every day.
I am so looking forward to building relationships, supporting our students’ growth, and becoming part of the CSS family.

Box Out Bullying
Anti-Bullying Student Assemblies and Parent Workshops at Charles Street School
Supporting New Jersey’s HIB Mandate and a Schoolwide Commitment to Student Safety
New Jersey’s Harassment, Intimidation, or Bullying (HIB) mandate serves as a foundation for the comprehensive prevention efforts at Charles Street School and throughout the Palmyra School District. Our leadership remains deeply committed to providing meaningful programs that move beyond basic awareness to focus on real-world skill development. We believe that a safe, supportive learning environment requires more than just consistent expectations; it requires practical strategies that students can use in everyday situations to feel valued and respected.
To support this mission, Charles Street School partners with Box Out Bullying to provide engaging student assemblies, parent workshops, and specialized student programming. This coordinated approach uses specific HIB pedagogy to clarify what bullying is (and isn’t), while actively promoting bystander empowerment and empathy. By focusing on lasting behavior change, these initiatives help students, families, and educators build the accountability and confidence necessary to maintain a positive school culture.
Through this ongoing collaboration, Charles Street School ensures that bullying prevention education remains a visible and impactful priority throughout the entire school year. Our goal is to provide instruction that translates directly into the classroom and beyond, fostering an environment where every student has the tools to succeed.

Strengthening School Climate Through PBIS
As a PBIS school, Charles Street School prioritizes teaching and reinforcing positive behavior expectations that help students feel safe and ready to learn. PBIS supports a culture where expectations are clear, positive actions are modeled, and students are recognized for making responsible choices.
Box Out Bullying offers a version of its programming specifically aligned to PBIS School Communities. Their anti-bullying student assemblies and parent workshops reinforce PBIS values by helping students understand how everyday decisions influence the school environment. Students learn how to:
- Recognize behavior that is unsafe, unkind, or inconsistent with school expectations
- Make responsible choices when they witness peer conflict
- Contribute to a respectful and inclusive school community

By connecting bullying-prevention strategies to PBIS language, students see that standing up for others and including peers are part of the positive behavior expectations they practice every day.
Parent Workshops That Extend Learning Beyond School
Supporting student success also means supporting families. Charles Street School families have access to professional interactive parent workshop sessions that strengthen communication, build confidence, and provide practical tools for addressing social conflict and online challenges.
These anti-bullying parent workshops help create shared expectations between school and home, ensuring students receive consistent guidance from the adults who support them.
Ongoing Resources for Families and Caregivers
